Its streets are lined with charming old buildings and small, cozy taverns that are perfect for enjoying a delicious meal or a refreshing drink. Everywhere you look, you'll see olive trees, which are symbolic of peace and prosperity and were gifted to the city by the Goddess Athena. That's why the city was named after her. Come and experience Athens for yourself and discover all that this incredible city has to offer.

History

Let me tell you why understanding the history of Athens and the goddess Athena is so crucial. Athena was an incredibly influential deity known for her association with war, handicraft, and practical reasoning. She represented the very essence of urban and civilized life. In fact, Athena's association with birds, particularly the owl, made it an iconic symbol of Athens. Therefore, learning about Athena's history is not only fascinating but also essential to understanding the rich cultural heritage of Athens.

Watch out

Watch out

The city is beautiful, but it is a city. Always watch out that no one is stealing your phone or wallet. The pickpockets are mostly at the metro. Do not be scared. It does not happen too much. Just be careful.

The guys on the streets are scammers DO NOT fall for it. They may look like they are giving stuff for FREE, but they are NOT. They will tell you a sad story, but it is not true.
